Privacy Policy

Who we are

RisingTraders is an educational trading simulator operated by Mortex LLC ("we," "us"). This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we handle it. Plain English, no dark patterns.

What we collect

Account: your email address and a hashed password (we never see your plaintext password - Supabase Auth handles it). Required to sync progress across devices.

Usage: scenarios played, grades earned, lessons completed, and basic device info (browser type, screen size) so we can fix bugs and improve the app.

Payments: if you subscribe, Stripe processes the payment. We receive a customer ID and subscription status - never your full card number.

Optional: if you allow notifications, your browser gives us a push subscription URL so we can send the daily reminders you opted in to.

How we use it

To run the product - saving your progress, computing your stats, sending you the emails and push notifications you opted in to, and processing your subscription.

To improve the product - aggregated usage data tells us which lessons land and which need rework. Individual usage is never sold.

To attribute ads - if you arrived via a Facebook or Meta ad, we may send Meta a hashed event (e.g., "this user signed up") so the ad platform can optimize. You can opt out of ads tracking in your Settings.

What we DON'T collect

We do NOT collect any real brokerage or banking credentials, real portfolio data, or real trading account information. The app is a simulator. All "trades" use virtual money against simulated price data.

We do NOT sell or rent your personal data to third parties for their own marketing.

Who processes data on our behalf

Supabase (database + authentication), Stripe (payments), Vercel (hosting), Resend (transactional email), and Meta (ads attribution, only when applicable). Each operates under its own published privacy policy and standard data-processing agreement.

Your rights

You can export or delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account, or by emailing risingtraders93@gmail.com. Deletion removes your progress and account record within 30 days. Anonymized aggregate data may be retained for product analytics.

If you are in the EU/UK or California, you have additional rights (GDPR, CCPA): access, rectification, erasure, portability, restriction, and objection to processing. Email us to exercise any of these.

Cookies and local storage

We use first-party local storage to remember your settings, progress, and sign-in. We do not use third-party tracking cookies. If you visit via an ad, the Meta pixel sets a first-party cookie for attribution; you can block it in your browser without losing any product functionality.

Children

RisingTraders is intended for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has signed up, please email us and we will delete the account.

Changes

We will post any material change to this policy here, and bump the effective date at the top. For substantive changes that affect existing users we'll also email registered accounts.
